How did you get here?
No, seriously. Look back at your search history. Think about how you have spent your last three hours. Realize that you have made seemingly infinite twists and turns on the road that is the internet. Accept that you never ended up reaching your metaphorical destination due to some wrong turns. Of course, I'm talking about a "rabbit hole." You went down a "rabbit hole," and in one way or another, ended up here.
Perhaps I'm being too hasty. Welcome! I'm so happy to have you here. My name is UncommonHotdog (well, not really...), and as you have probably gathered already, this is my first blog post.
...
Listen. I have no idea who you are. You could be a friend of mine, a 9/5 worker, a Norwegian car salesman, a jewelry thief, or even flippin' Gordon Ramsay for all I care. But whoever you are, I know that we have one thing in common. Since you ended up here, it would be right to assume that we both go on "rabbit holes," and end up in random places. Be it on the internet, in real life, or even in our minds, our endless thirst for knowledge, for answers, for mere satisfaction, bonds the two of us together.
So, again, welcome. You have arrived at the... rest stop for information-seekers like us. You can take a break from navigating those endless roads. Swallow the natural human desire for fulfillment and stop to smell the figurative roses. Don't worry. You're safe now. You are where you belong.
This is my hobby. Key word: "my." If I want to make a post, I'll make a post. If I forget about the blog entirely for two weeks, that's fine. It's my life, and I have control over actions.
That being said, I'll try my best to write something on here at least every month or so. I'm doing this for myself, so neglecting the blog entirely would simply be self-detrimental. I don't know who will read this besides people I am close to in real life. Nonetheless, if you are a stranger eagerly awaiting a post from me, I sincerely appreciate you.
One more thing about my schedule. It's very likely I'll write a bunch of posts in one short burst followed by weeks of silence. I hate to break it to you, but that's just how my brain works. I'm really trying to get better at habits and routines like these, but for now, you'll have to get used to BURSTS!!! :D
I'm super into visual aids. Specifically hand-drawn ones that help explain concepts and add humor to a lesson or piece of writing. So, when I am writing a post and trying to communicate an idea, am expressing my emotions, or otherwise feel that an image is necessary, I'll doodle something and add it. Sometimes I might even make a GIF!!! This whole process may slow down the process of writing posts, so I apologize in advance.
Most posts will just be me rambling, ranting or venting about personal experiences or general feelings of mine. However, I'll try to vary topics to reflect my many, rapidly-changing interests.
Here are some types of posts you'll see:
It's unlikely anyone will read this blog. I don't know who on Earth would be interested in my rambling. But if you are one of the lucky few rabbit-hole partakers who has ended up here, all I hope for you is that you take a break from navigating the endless road of choices, dead-ends, and unreachable destinations that is the internet (and really, life in general). Pause here. Look around you. Notice the beauty of the world around us. The puffy, cotton-candy clouds. The earthy soil under your feet. The wind softblowing on your shirt. Please, if there's one thing that you should take away from this entire blog, it's that us as humans get so preoccupied with the desire for information and the uncertainty of the future that we often forget about what we already have in the present moment.
Somehow, a part of me hasn't realized this yet, and I don't think it ever will. But having some hope is nice, right??
Alright, I'm gonna go sniff a flower or something. See ya'!
